    A Study on Ratio Analysis With Reference to CGI

    This project entitled “A study on Ratio Analysis in CGI GROUP INC.” involved understanding the process of identifying the financial strengths and weaknesses over a period of five years. The primary objective of the project is to study the financial position and growth profile of the company during the study period. CGI, is a Canadian global information technology (IT) consulting, systems integration, outsourcing and solutions company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Services provided by CGI as of 2015 include application services, business consulting, business process services, IT infrastructure services, IT outsourcing services, and systems integration services, among others. CGI has customers in a wide array of industries and markets, with many in financial services. All the amounts mentioned in this project are in Canadian Dollar. The tool used for the study is Ratio Analysis. Ratio Analysis helps to analyse the past performance of the company and to make future projections. From the data analysis and interpretation in the project, it is understood that the net profit ratio been maintained well and thus it is good from the company’s prospective because higher the net profit ratio, higher is the profitability of the firm. Also, as the debt equity ratio is not high, it means that the company does not have a lot of debt. Therefore, the less the company has to worry about meeting its fixed obligations. The low debt equity ratio implies a greater claim of owners on the assets of the company.
