    Automatic Calibration Setup for Controller Test Rig

    Digital Controller is a safety critical system which needs to be subjected to various input and output signal interface checks. In order to functionally prepare the digital controller for further integration with Aero Engines, an extensive testing of all the controller interfaces is required. A Test Rig has been developed to thoroughly test all the controller interfaces. Engine Transducer Emulator (ETE) PC is used for emulation of engine transducer interface signals. The rig used for testing needs to be calibrated on a regular basis to maintain the correctness of testing. All the transducer interface emulators are calibrated against a working standard - a High End Digital Multimeter (DMM). For easy and speedy calibration of the Emulators the calibration setup has to be automated. GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) communication is established between the DMM and the ETE PC so that the DMM can be automatically configured to measure the respective output of different transducer interfaces i.e. Speed, Pressure and Temperature. Simultaneously it is required to switch the DMM connection from one interface to another. A PCI Based Relay Matrix Card and a Reed Relay Card are used for the switching between the interfaces which is a part of the ETE PC. LabVIEW based programs have to be developed to fully automate the calibration process and to generate a report for the calibration performed. LabVIEW is used because of its feature to produce Graphical User Interface.
