Item Implementation of a Pneumatic Based Gear Shifting Mechanism in a Go-Kart(NHCE, 2026) Aniket Batni-1NH22ME007 Lakshith Raghav S-1NH22ME033Go-karts are compact, lightweight vehicles widely used in recreational and competitive motorsports due to their simplicity, maneuverability, and accessibility. Although mechanically minimal, their performance strongly depends on efficient power transmission and accurate driver control. Conventional manual gear shifting often causes inconsistent performance, increased driver fatigue, and efficiency losses due to physical effort and timing variability. This project addresses these issues by implementing a pneumatic-based gear shifting mechanism that automates gear selection using compressed-air actuation. Pneumatic actuators, controlled through solenoid valves and push-button inputs, enable rapid and reliable gear changes without manual lever operation. Design, fabrication, and testing results validate performance.
