Item Performance Evaluation Of VLAN-Based Secure Network With Inter-VLAN Routing(NHCE, 2026) ANUGUNTI SANDHYA 1NH24MC019In modern computer networks, ensuring secure communication, efficient resource utilization, and effective traffic management has become a critical requirement for organizations. Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) provide a logical segmentation of networks, enhancing security, reducing broadcast traffic, and improving overall network performance. However, communication between different VLANs requires Inter-VLAN Routing, which enables controlled and secure data exchange across network segments. This study focuses on the performance evaluation of a VLAN-based secure network integrated with Inter-VLAN Routing. The proposed network architecture utilizes VLANs to isolate departments or user groups while implementing routing mechanisms to facilitate communication between them. Various network performance parameters, including throughput, latency, packet delivery, bandwidth utilization, and security effectiveness, are analyzed to assess the efficiency of the network design. The study examines the configuration and implementation of VLANs and Inter-VLAN Routing using networking devices such as switches and routers. It highlights how VLAN segmentation minimizes unauthorized access, reduces network congestion, and improves manageability. Furthermore, security measures such as access control policies and traffic filtering are incorporated to strengthen network protection. The findings indicate that VLAN-based secure networks with Inter-VLAN Routing significantly enhance network performance, scalability, and security compared to traditional flat network architectures. The implementation demonstrates efficient traffic management, reduced broadcast domains, and improved communication between network segments. The study concludes that VLAN technology combined with Inter-VLAN Routing offers a cost-effective and reliable solution for modern enterprise networks, supporting organizational requirements for secure, scalable, and high-performance communication infrastructure.
