Item Biogas Production from Anaerobic Digestion using Sewage Sludge(2018-06-21T07:59:43Z) Adel, Jeelani; Khalid, Ajaz; Kumar, Shivankar; R K, PintuBiogas production requires anaerobic digestion. The anaerobic digestion of kitchen waste produces biogas, a valuable energy resource. Anaerobic digestion is a microbial process for production of biogas, which consists of primarily methane (CH4) & carbon dioxide (CO2). It is further facilitated by addition ofinoculum i.e. sewage sludge. The wastes produced in the college premises is dumped which is not utilized and proves to be a nuisance to the environment. Hence this waste was used for biogas generation. Preparations were for the installation setup where the generation of biogas was measured and different laboratory tests were carried out. The continuously-fed digester requires addition of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to maintain the alkalinity and pH to 7. The digester was seen to have a temperature of 30°C mesophilic range
