Design and Fabrication of Two Helmet Holder Cabin

The notification issued under Section 138 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act) by the Karnataka Government making it mandatory for the pillion rider to wear helmet. The rule is being implemented after the Supreme Court Committee of Road Safety directed the state to implement it at the earliest.Hence this project marks the need based requirement to house two helmets in the vehicle.The objective of this project is to design and fabricate a “Two helmet holder cabin” on the vehicle.The methods incorporated in making this project are problem identification and finding alternative solutions based on the literature survey in adapting the advantages and minimizing the disadvantages respectively. Followed by evaluation of alternative solutions to finalize the design concept and analyse the same, next finding the suitable material and doing cost estimation followed by fabrication and testing the working of the structure.On the completion of this project two helmets can be stored making it easy to follow the rule, protect the helmet from theft and other environmental factors causing damage. The cabin will also act as a back rest for both the rider and pillion rider respectively making the ride comfortable.
