According to the 2017 Workplace Learning Report from LinkedIn, 69% of L&D professionals say that talent is the number one priority in their organizations, and over ¼ are expecting a budget increase in 2017 for L&D programs” Organizations grow and change in predictable ways, moving through various phases of development. Each phase requires new skills for the organization’s leaders and employees. Knowing how to identify where your organization is, and more importantly, the next phase it’s growing into, will help you anticipate business needs and be ready with the right learning solutions. Noted management author Peter Drucker said that the fastest growing industry would be training and development as a result of replacement of industrial workers with knowledge workers. According to one estimate technology is de-skilling 75 % of the population. Over half of L&D professionals say developing managers and leaders is the No.1 objective for their organizations. As such, skills like coaching and leadership communication take the top spot on the list of skills training that L&D professionals are providing their organizations.
