Item Project report on restaurant management system(New Horizon College, 2026) Adrika Santra, U19KU23S0014The "Restaurant Management System" is a modern web-based application developed to simplify and automate the daily operations of restaurants. In today's fast-growing digital world, restaurants require efficient systems to manage their services, attract customers, and maintain organized business operations. This project is designed to provide a smart and user-friendly platform where restaurant owners can manage their restaurant content, menu items, gallery, team members, and customer interaction through an interactive website and admin dashboard. The main objective of this project is to create a dynamic and responsive restaurant website that improves restaurant management and enhances the customer experience. Traditional restaurant management methods are often time-consuming and difficult to maintain manually. Therefore, this system helps in reducing manual work by providing an automated and centralized platform. The application allows administrators to easily update restaurant information, manage menu cards, upload food images, maintain staff details, and control website content through a secure admin panel. This project is developed using Python and the Django Framework as the backend technologies. Django is a powerful web framework that provides security, scalability, and rapid development features. The frontend of the project is created using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to provide an attractive, responsive, and user-friendly interface. Bootstrap helps in designing mobile- friendly layouts, while JavaScript adds interactivity and dynamic functionalities to the website. One of the major features of this system is the Dynamic Hero Section, which makes the homepage visually attractive by displaying changing banners, promotional content, or featured dishes dynamically. The Add Menu Card feature allows administrators to add, update, and manage restaurant menu items with details such as food names, descriptions, prices, and images. This makes menu management simple and flexible. The Add Gallery feature helps in showcasing restaurant images, food items, interiors, and special events to attract customers visually. Similarly, the Add Team Members feature allows the restaurant to display information about chefs, managers, and staff members on the website. The project also includes a secure Admin Dashboard, which acts as the control center of the system. Through the dashboard, the administrator can manage all website content efficiently without requiring technical knowledge. The dashboard provides functionalities such as adding or deleting menu items, managing gallery images, editing homepage content, and controlling team member information. This Restaurant Management System is designed with a focus on simplicity, efficiency, and responsiveness. The system can be accessed from different devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. The responsive design ensures a smooth user experience across all screen sizes. Overall, the Restaurant Management System is an effective solution for digital restaurant management. It not only improves operational efficiency but also helps restaurants establish a strong online presence. The project demonstrates the practical implementation of modern web technologies and highlights the importance of automation in the hospitality industry. Through this project, restaurant owners can efficiently manage their services, engage customers, and improve business productivity in a professional and organized manner.
