    Closed Loop Control of BLDC Motor

    The project is designed to control a speed of a BLDC motor using closed loop control technique. BLDC motor has various application used in industries like in drilling, lass, spinning, elevators, electric bikes etc. A speed control of a DC motors is very essential. This proposed system provides a very precise and effective speed control system. A user can enter a desired speed and a motor will run at that exact speed. It is based on a principle of PWM speed that can be controlled. This is achieved by keeping the BLDC motor on a closed loop feedback by a giving an RPM reference to a microcontroller upon a shaft which is mounted IR reflection arrangement. An LCD duly interfaced to a microcontroller to display a running speed. A desired speed in percentage of full speed is fed with a help of a keypad. A controller delivers the desired pulse width to automatically adjust a DC power to a motor for required speed. Above operation is carried out by using 1 opto-isolator and a MOSFET for driving a BLDC motor with IR sensing for getting a speed reference to a microcontroller. Further the project is as per the aspect to fulfill the requirement of our own college Electrical machine lab, so as to control the speed of the motor during a number of experiments performed ,and to reduce the circuit and cost and upon that reducing the losses incurred while adjusting the speed using rheostat.
