    Piezoelectric Energy Harvester
(2015-12-23T09:54:47Z) Gayathri, Menon; Harshkunj P, Chokhawala; R. Narmadha, Rani; Renjini, Mohan
The demand for energy is ever increasing and our project aims at harnessing the waste mechanical energy that is expelled while walking, into useful electrical energy using a piezoelectric model. This project also aims at determining the best combination of piezoelectric crystals that will produce an optimum output which can further be used for various applications. A spring model is used in the project so as to optimize the effectiveness of the vibrations and increase the output from each crystal. The spring model also ensures that the pressure on the model is evenly distributed. Various ways of increasing the output from one crystal and a combination of crystals resulted in using a bridge rectifier in series with each crystal. The bridge rectifier is a uni-directional current controlling device. The positive and negative peak of the output was rectified, giving a higher voltage.
