Item Modification of Fuel Tank for the Proper Suction of Fuel at Higher Gradients Under Low Fuel Condition(2017-10-11T08:56:39Z) LIKHITH, SAI K S; SHABAZ, KHAN; NAVEEN, KUMAR M; SRINIVAS, P VThe objective of the project is to attain a consistency in fuel flow into the engine at higher gradients. In the fuel tank of TATRA trucks the suction pipe is located at the right side of the tank, this position of suction pipe make the fuel flow difficult at higher gradients .where at gradients the air is sucked into the engine and engine cut off happens. BEML is a company that builds Trucks mainly for the Defence field. The problem found in TATRA trucks is the engine cuts off at higher gradients due to insufficient fuel supply. For perfect and smooth functioning of engine the fuel flow should be at constant rate. Suction pipe adjustments are made to the tank to allow the fuel to get sucked into the engine at the higher gradients. This involves the conditions like dead volume, slope angles. The position of suction pipe should be able to fulfill the need of fuel flow not only at ascending even at descending the slopes.
