    Power Management of MIMO Channels

    Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Systems are used in wireless communication for enhancement of capacity. In which Diversity gain and spatial multiplexing gain are the two main advantages of MIMO systems that are used to study the effect of increase in bit rate with increasing the number of transmitter and receiver antennas this project presents a power management mechanism for MIMO network called antenna management. The key idea in antenna management is to adaptively disable some of the antennas as well as their RF chains to reduce circuit power. Antenna management technique can be implemented by using water filling algorithm. The main purpose of this algorithm is allocate high power level to those antennas which are having low noise level and it does not allocate no power to those antennas which is having completely noise. By using water filling algorithm we can reduce the power consumption of a MIMO network. In this project we have used MATLAB tool for the required simulations.
