Simulation of Signal Processing Algorithm for Airborne Audio System
    (2017-08-30T05:09:44Z) REENA, CHERUVATH
The airborne audio system use an signal processing algorithm in which when the user speaks the speech is transmitted and when the user stops speaking the speech is not transmitted .It acts as an automatic switch when the user speaks the switch is closed (switch is ‘ON’) and when the user stops speaking the switch is open (switch is ‘OFF’).This is mainly used in aircraft where the speech of the user is transmitted and recorded .This automatic switch helps the user in hand free while talking. The switch is ‘ON’ when the sound over a certain frequencies is detected .This is used to switch ‘ON’ the transmitter and recorder when the user talks and the switch are ‘OFF’ when the user stops talking. Airborne Audio system use digital signal processing algorithms, which are used for applications in military aircrafts, here the digital filters are preferred , compared to that of analog filters to achieve better accuracy. The simulation is done using MATLAB which helps to compare the results as it has many inbuilt functions. The communication between the pilots can be transmitted using this airborne audio system .It can also transmit the audio signals to the ground station. Testing team can easily test the hardware device functionality and requirements by comparing the results obtained in simulation results.
