    Smart Meter for Power Factor Enhancement in Real-Time

    With the increase in population, the demand for electricity also increases dramatically. The electrical grids are affected at a greater extent due to the greenhouse gases emitted. Thus, it is our primary aim to conserve energy and use it efficiently. By using smart meter, we can obtain real-time data as well as to read the meter locally. This paper aims to design a system that can be applicable for the industrial as well as consumer side to identify the wasteful energy and to cut-off load when not necessary. The meters implemented mainly aims to improve power factor thus reducing the energy wastage and making sure all the appliances stay undamaged. This system will measure all the power parameters and provide quality power to end user. The data will be obtained in an application through Android and the consumer can directly control his loads from the application through Wi-Fi.
