Transformer Monitoring and Control Using GSM and Current Sensor
(2020-10-07T07:07:00Z) GOPAL S, MANISH; CHRISTOPHER, NITHIN JOHN; S, PRADEEP
This project is about the design and operation of an embedded in-house system for monitoring and recording key components of a distribution transformer such as load, oil level and temperature. The concept of an online monitoring system includes a Modem Service Mobile (GSM) Modem, with Arduino standing and other unique sensors. The received parameters are processed and recorded in the program memory. In the event of any mismatch or emergency the system sends SMS messages (short messages) to phone calls containing information about abnormalities according to predefined instructions programmed into Arduino. This mobile app will help translators work properly and identify problems before any disaster strikes. A powerful GSM network is built to transfer data from one network to another to take the correct corrective action initially. Any change in the transmission limits is to prevent all transmission and distribution. The performance of the prototype model was tested in a laboratory experiment to monitor various parameters such as transformer Over voltage and Under Voltage, Over current and Under current, Over temperature etc.
