DYNAMIC CHARACTERIZATION OF A CANTILEVER PLATE
(2019-07-08T10:29:24Z) JAITEG SINGH; AVINASH VISHWAKARMA; AKASH MITRA; SALEEL HUSSAIN
Modal analysis is the most important method to determine the dynamic characteristics of objects. With this study we can determine natural frequencies and mode shapes. It can therefore be ensured that the frequencies do not match the natural frequencies of the body. This ensures safety of the model by preventing resonance, a phenomenon which may lead to catastrophic failure of the model. A study is conducted on thin rectangular plate, one side of which is clamped. The study uses classical solution, finite element method with the help of ANSYS, and experimental methods- impact hammer test and laser vibrometer test. Further, parametric studies are conducted for correlations by taking a number of parameters into account.
