Switching of Multiple Sources using AT89C51ED2 Microcontroller
(2017-08-24T05:30:51Z) SHUBHAM, YADAV; BHUPINDER, SINGH; SANTHOSH, SHRIVATSAV
India is currently the fifth largest producer and consumer of electricity in the world but continuity and reliability still remains a vision unfulfilled. India’s state utility losses over the past 5 years has been GDP. Though India has doubled its power generation in the past decade by adding 85GW of capacity, it’s inefficient ways of transmission and distribution leads to losses of over 30GW. Results of this study shows that relying on renewable sources instead of only the state utilities for individual homes can save up to 40% of energy bills and also helps for a sustainable future by reducing consumption of conventional resources such as fossil fuels and other hazardous resources which harms the environment. For ensuring a continuous and reliable supply, every individual space using power can use switching of multiple sources of renewable energy along with the power supply from utilities which is being carried out in this project. The switching of these multiple sources is done using a 32-pin microcontroller as the main component. This system has the potential to be a successful alternative to meet with the countries energy demands but at the same time can reduce losses to improve the country’s economy.
