Item A Parametric Study on Transmission Line Towers due to dynamic Loading(2017-08-16T10:43:04Z) Ashok Kumar, Bhakta; Shivaram Brahmanand, Nayak; Pinjara, AshabeeNow a days four legged lattice towers are most commonly used as transmission line towers. The present work describes the analysis and design of self-supporting steel transmission line towers viz four legged models using common parameters such as varying heights and different shapes of bracing system, with an angle sections system are carried out. In this constant loading parameters including wind forces as per IS: 802 (1995) are taken in account. The load calculations are carried out for normal conditions. The loading calculations on tower are due to conductor and ground wire in normal conditions as well as broken wire conditions considering transverse direction wind. The efforts have been made to do 3D analysis of tower considering all the members of the space truss as primary members. STAAD Pro has been used to analysis and designs the members of tower. A number of experimental configurations of the tower are obtained by increasing the heights of tower and also by changing the bracing patterns. After analysis, the comparative study is carried out with respective to slenderness effect, critical sections, forces and deflections of the towers.
