Conversion of Single Phase to Three Phase Supply and Speed Control of Three Phase Induction Motor
(2018-10-17T12:42:10Z) A N, Sharath; Madiha, Ayub; Sheril, Philip; Srinidhi, M
This paper presents the design and implementation of a voltage source inverter for speed control of an induction motor. A number of pulse width modulation schemes are used to obtain variable voltage and frequency supply from an inverter, but Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) has advantages such as easier digital realization, better dc bus utilization over the other methods of pulse width modulations. Speed control techniques are generally essential in adjustable speed drive system which requires variable voltage and frequency supply which is invariably obtained from a three-phase voltage source inverter. In recent years, the vector control of induction motor drive is widely used in high performance drive system. It is due to its unique characteristics like high efficiency, good power factor and extremely rugged. This scheme prompts to have the capacity to change the speed of the motor by controlling the frequency and amplitude of the stator voltage, the proportion of stator voltage to frequency (v/f) ought to be kept consistent. In this paper, the conversion of single phase to three phase supply is studied along with v/f speed control of three phase induction motor using space vector pulse width modulation.
