Item Natural Image Segmentation and Object Recognition using ACA and Steerable Filter based on Color-Texture Features(2011-12-30T09:14:39Z) Nilima, Kulkarni; Rajurkar, A.M.An image segmentation algorithm that is based on low-level features for color and texture is presented. It is aimed at segmentation of natural scenes, in which the color and texture of each segment does not typically exhibit uniform statistical characteristics. The proposed approach combines knowledge of human perception with an understanding of signal characteristics in order to segment natural scenes into perceptually/semantically uniform regions. The proposed approach is based on two types of spatially adaptive low-level features. The first describes the local color composition in terms of spatially adaptive dominant colors, and the second describes the spatial characteristics of the grayscale component of the texture. Together, they provide a simple and effective characterization of texture that the proposed algorithm uses to obtain robust and, at the same time, accurate and precise segmentations. We have tried to recognize objects in images. We used color values for object recognition. The images are assumed to be of relatively low resolution and may be degraded compressedItem Sybil Attack Resistant Cryptographic Traffic Information Dissemination in VuC(2015-08-10T06:28:52Z) Vandana, C P; Nitty, Sarah AlexVANET based Cloud has evolved recently from traditional VANET (Vehicular Adhoc Networks) leveraging the power of cloud computing technologies. VANET based Cloud aims at disseminating reliable, accurate traffic information to VANET applications to make the transportation system safe. However, the A dhoc, decentralized nature of VANET, makes them attractive for security attacks.Since VANET is directly related to human lives, security and privacy issues are of paramount importance. Sybil attack is one such network layer attack observed in VANET, which completely disrupts the routing mechanism in network topologies, connections and increases the bandwidth consumption tremendously. This paper proposes AODV based cryptographic approach to disseminate secure traffic information resistant to Sybil attack in VANET.Item NS3 Simulation Studies For Optimized Neighbour Discovery in 6LoWPAN Networks(2017-01-11T08:37:52Z) Raghavendra, Prasad S; Vivek, R; Jitendranath, Mungara; Jubin, Sebastian EThe main motivation behind the 6LoWPAN standard is that every sensor node has to be connected to Internet and participate in Internet of Things (IoT). The RFC 6775 provides optimized Neighbor Discovery (ND) procedure which is supposedly provides better performance when compared to traditional ICMPv6 neighbor discovery process. The main optimization is obtained due to reduced multicast messages host initiated router interactions that support both sleeping nodes and lesser time spent in message transmission. This work presents the implementation details of important features in this optimized ND process. This work is done in the form of an NS3 model where in ICMPv6 model is implemented considering the ND optimizations. The simulation results are compared against the performance of basic ND process for IPv6 described in RFC 4861.Our results show that optimized ND for 6LoWPAN reduces the exchange of control messages by 50 to 70 percent.
