Item Structural Analysis And Process Planning For A Bracket Of An Aileron Flight Control System(2015-12-28T14:07:13Z) Anurag, YadavPresent aerospace industry demands for the components that impart more strength to a structure or the system with high service life and least possible weight. This in turn opens new avenues in design and manufacturing sectors for better performance and better structural stability. Brackets are one such components that can be modified for better performance in a system. Brackets are used for mounting, supporting or connecting purposes. The concerned bracket is a supporting type bracket which is used to support the potentiometer which is a part of aircraft control system. Aileron is present in the extreme end of the wings which causes a difference in air pressure and hence creates a lift. This report includes the structural analysis of the modified design of the bracket. The process parameters for manufacturing of the bracket is also varied to reduce the machining time of certain operations The structural analysis includes two types of analysis i.e., static analysis and fatigue analysis. This bracket is analyzed for von mises stress, maximum principle stress, deformation, maximum shear stress and life of the bracket. The report also includes machining time required for certain operation and then reducing the machining time for these operations. The variables like machining speed, depth of cut and feed rate can be varied to make variations in the time taken for each operation and then the tool life can be compared to check the feasibility of the changes.
