Human resources are the most significant and the only activity factor of production. For the development of an organization the perquisites is to develop the Human resource. Human resource development will involve up grading the skills, extending the knowledge and competency of Human resource. To satisfy his/her want a person has to perform numerous activities. An individual alone cannot perform all the necessary activities. Therefore human beings join or co-operate together in the form of groups and organization. Every Organization (e.g.: a college, an enterprise, an army) is basically a group of people seeking to attain some common objectives. A central organization or agency is required to co-ordinate the activities and efforts of various individuals working together in an organization are called Management. An organization needs for its growth, further development, survival 5 important M‟s namely Men, Money, Machine, Material, and Method. It is an effective combination of these factors. However, the management of Men is a very important and a challenging job. It is because of dynamic nature of the people is responsive, they feel, think and act; therefore need a tactful handling by management personnel. If manpower is properly utilised, it may prove a dynamic motive force for running an enterprise at its optimum level. HRM is one, which is concerned with this “human factor”
