The main sectors covered under the study are Cement, Computer and Drugs and Pharmaceuticals for the purpose of analysis. An attempt has been made to analyze the various ratios like Debt-Equity ratio, Debt to total asset ratio and Current liability to total asset ratio which are related to capital structure. Each sector is analyzed with the help of last ten-year financial data. This study finds that the nature of industry influences the capital structure practices of corporate firms and all of the industry groups under study have marked inclination towards shareholder funds in their capital structure.Item Interpretable Recurrent Neural Networks for Modeling Temporal Dynamics of Acquired Drug Resistance in Targeted Therapy(2026-05-26) Pushpalatha V.; Thanvi Kuttaiah; Kamaleshwar T.; Anat Jaslin Jini A.; Jakkapu Nagalakshmidevi; Susmitha V.; Sathyaraju S.; Jayasudha R.; Deepa A.R; Vengatesh TAcquired drug resistance remains a fundamental obstacle in targeted cancer therapy, often arising from complex temporal evolutionary dynamics within tumor cell populations. Traditional pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) models struggle to capture nonlinear, long-term sequential dependencies, while standard recurrent neural networks (RNNs) suffer from black-box opacity. In this paper, we propose IRNN-DR (Interpretable RNN for Drug Resistance), a novel architecture combining Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) units with an attention-based temporal relevance mask and a learnable dynamical system backbone. Using longitudinal single- cell resistance data from EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines treated with osimertinib, we demonstrate that IRNN-DR achieves high predictive accuracy (AUC-ROC = 0.94) while providing explicit interpretations of resistance-driving time points and genetic pathways. Our contribution includes a temporal Shapley value module and a resistance trajectory clustering method. Results indicate that IRNN-DR can identify early "critical windows" of resistance emergence, with potential clinical utility for adaptive therapy schedulingItem Manifestations of Conflict in Tughlaq(2016-04-25T09:52:21Z) Anusuya, Paul AKarnad’s play reflects an analogy of the communal harmony that was idealised by Tughlaq in the fourteenth century and the secularism of Nehru in the early nineteen sixties. While communal harmony and secularism apparently remain a basic agenda for stabilising power and dispelling anarchy, in truth it invites more conflict and anarchy. How far communal harmony or secularism combats the evils like betrayal, murder, thievery which corrupt the society from within is a question that remains unanswered till today. The play displays the ploy of the emperors or the head of the states that tactfully play with the people ignoring the violence met by the people. The play brings in the form of allegory the close approximation of the circumstances in the capital of the nation which was impacted by the propaganda of bringing in communal harmony during the reign of Muhammad-bin-Tughlaq in the fourteenth century and the governance of the country by trying to establish secularism during the Nehruvian era. This paper is an attempt to study the ways in which the conflict within the self of Tughlaq is manifested through his external actions and how his idealism of establishing communal harmony amongst the Hindus and Muslims actually act against him. This is much similar to the response Nehru got for his idealism in the post –independence India.Item Minority Speaks For/Against Itself: A Reading of Baharul Islam’s Play Jatra(2016-04-25T09:57:59Z) Anusuya, Paul AOne of the emerging voices that speak of the minority in an unbiased way in Assam is Baharul Islam. Baharul Islam, a playwright, director and actor attempts to dismantle the marked identity of the marginalised (in the present context woman or Islam) from a judicious perspective. His sceptical attitude towards certain set of people who misinterpret religion and treat women as biologically and religiously inferior have earned him much admiration around the globe. One of his most celebrated plays Jatra speaks of a Muslim woman who is trapped in limbo by biological as well as religious misinterpretations. It is very interesting to note how Baharul Islam amalgamates gender and religion together to bring forth his cynicism on people who have ignorantly considered themselves authorities for preaching the religion and advocating gender hierarchies. He reinstates the position of Islam as well as women in Islam. In a place like Assam, which is known for its polyglot society and heterogeneous culture, reinstating the position of Islam and the position of women in Islam has to negotiate with diverse sociological strategies. Islam yet held as “minority”, looked as the “other” with its internal discrepancies projected through the words of false interpreters further reduces the possibilities of breaking the manifested image of “minority”. Baharul Islam attempts to deconstruct the same. Hence, in this case, it becomes difficult to comprehend who is the minority? The complex network of various socio-cultural strategies that partake in forming an identity whether of Islam or of being a woman can never be ignored in such cases. And this is very skilfully presented in the present play Jatra by Baharul Islam.
