The profit and day today requirement, cash flow/working capital requirement is partly achieved through accounts receivables. Therefore it needs a careful analysis and proper management. Trade credit is the most prominent force of modern business. Till few years back, SAPTHAANG’s clients earlier had a very strict policy of selling services/goods against advance payments and that was an era of controlled economy. With increase market competition at domestic and international, company could no longer afford this policy, in order to maintain its premium position. Further in order to capture a larger market share, it was forced to go by the industry norms and thus it started the concept of credit sales sanctioned to every customer with time duration of few months for payment. The customers were required to pay the outstanding amount on the due date. The recruitment department in HGS House, at Bommanahalli has lateral and volume level recruitment. The manager of talent acquisition team Mr. Udaya Kumar Kannan being my external guide, even I have to be a part of his team during the internship. His team does the lateral recruitment. As the term refers, “lateral recruitment is the process of hiring an "expert" for the job that needs to be filled”. In the first two weeks in HGS I was entering the data of rejected candidates of Ms. Rajeshwari and Ms. France, who are the part of lateral recruitment team. Mr. Jagan was their immediate senior. The data of the rejected candidates are entered into an excel sheet called ‘tracker’. The tracker consists of candidate’s name, qualification, date of birth, experience, previous organization’s name, location, email id, mobile number, the source, interview status, reject level and reason plus the recruiter’s name and their employee id. This data is further sent to the operations head. This information will serve as the evidence for the interview conducted by the recruiters. The recruiters are allowed to have direct access into online job portals, so that they could find most appropriate candidates as per their requisitions. In addition to these online job portals, they do use social media, newspaper ads, consultancy agencies, employee referrals and walk-in for generating candidates. Basically these recruiters do make a telephonic interview as the 1st round of interview, through this they could confirm about the communication skill of the candidate. When the candidates are through the telephonic interview, they will have to go through face-to-face interview in the office. This face-to-face interview is conducted by the recruiters Ms.Rajeshwari, Ms.France, Ms.Navya, and Mr.Shanmugam. When the recruiters are satisfied with the candidates, Mr.Udaya Kumar Kannan, the manager will also meet the candidate before hiring them. Twice I got a chance to be in the interview room with Ms.Rajeshwari when she was conducting the interview, where I was listening and learning how she or a recruiter conducts an interview.
