The primary purpose of the recruitment and selection process is to achieve one desired and picking the right person for the job. The process is lengthy, complex and presents many opportunities for making wrong or bad decisions as there are for making the right one. For managers, whose performance. also correcting bad decisions can be costly. Even if it is possible to dismiss the new appointee quickly the recruitment costs have already been incurred and the constant loss of labour during the time it takes to make another appointment and the learning time of the second newly appointment individual must be taken into account. If it is not possible to rectify a poor decision in this way, leaving the consequences can have long-term repercussions that cannot easily be coated. We all have had experience that demonstrates just how expensive they can be.

Working capital management refers to the management of current or short-term assets and short-term liabilities. Components of short-term assets include inventories, loans and advances, debtors, investments and cash and bank balances. Short-term liabilities include creditors, trade advances, borrowings and provisions. The major emphasis is, however, on short-term assets, since short-term liabilities arise in the context of short-term assets.
