Inverters can be broadly classified into single level inverter and multilevel inverter. We are implementing single phase five level cascaded Multilevel inverter by using only five switches and two dc sources. The main objective of this project is to increase number of levels with low number of switches and sources at the output. Multilevel inverter as compared to Single level inverters have advantages like minimum harmonic distortion, reduced EMI/RFI generation and can operate on several voltage levels. It is justified that the new topology can be recommended to single phase five level Cascaded with conventional method H-bridge inverters. As in the conventional method of gating the power circuit we are implementing the Digital Switching Scheme in place of it. We could able to achieve the better . A multi-stage inverter is being utilized for multipurpose applications, such as active power filters, static var compensators and machine drives for sinusoidal and trapezoidal current applications. The agriculture sector of India has occupied almost 43 percent of India‘s geographical area. Therefore agriculture is very important for a country like India. … [1] There are many problems faced by farmers. Some of them are as follows Irrigation: It is the artificial application of water to the land or soil. It is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops, maintenance of landscapes, and re-vegetation of disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of inadequate rainfall. Storage: The action or method of storing something for future use. Attack of insects/pests: Any organism that damages crops, injuries or irritates livestock or man, or reduces the fertility of land. …[2] In our project we concentrate on attack of insects/pests problem. Nowadays pest monitoring is being done by manual inspection and by spraying pesticides. But the major problem caused by manual inspection is that they cannot monitor the crops 24/7 and also the problem caused by spraying pesticides is that due to the spraying of large quantity, the skin of the farmers is affected and also the consumers are affected by these spraying of pesticides. Therefore we plan to automate the process of pest monitoring, detection and spraying pesticides only when required using video processing/ real time techniques.Item Traffic Light Control System for Emergency Vehicles and Automatic Detection of Traffic Signal Violation(2015-12-22T08:37:41Z) Sanjay, .MS; Rabab, Basheer; Rakesh, .RThe Intelligence RF Traffic Light Control for Ambulance is a device that can allows an ambulance and emergency vehicles to pass through traffic light that remotely. One of the smallest and well known embedded computers is a wireless sensor node, which is a passive sensing device capable of communicating wirelessly with other devices. Early attempts to monitor the physical environment are primarily composed of these passive sensing devices which have been succeeded in many applications by the development of Stationary Wireless Sensor Networks. A wireless sensor network is typically composed of many tiny computers, often no bigger than a coin or a credit card, that feature a low frequency processor, some flash memory for storage, a radio for short-range wireless communication, on chip sensors and an energy source such as AA batteries. Applications of stationary wireless sensor networks have emerged in many domains ranging from environmental monitoring to structural monitoring as well as industry manufacturing. In all these applications, the primary task of a wireless sensor network is to collect useful information by monitoring phenomena in the surrounding environment. Typically, in a wireless sensor network, sensor nodes generate data about a phenomenon and relay streams of data to a more resource rich device, namely a data sink, for analysis and processing. Early sensor networks have been modeled as having a single, predefined, stationary sink. However, as the size of the sensor network grows with the wide availability of economically viable embedded sensor nodes, the communication between the sensors and the single stationary sink can lead to high energy consumption, and consequently reduce the lifetime of the network. In recent years there has been renewal of interest in using multiple sinks for wireless sensor networks to achieve power saving. Although multi-sink partitioning of the sensed area enhances some performance metrics, such as network lifetime, of single sink sensor network, the development of multiple stationary sinks in an area of interest still creates an uneven energy depletion phenomenon around the sinks, since sensors near a data sink deplete their battery power faster than those far apart, due to their heavy overhead of relaying messages. In Wireless Sensor Network all sensor nodes have the equal probability to fail and therefore the data delivery in sensor networks is inherently faulty and unpredictable. Most of the sensor network applications need reliable data delivery to sink instead of point-to-point reliability. Therefore, it is vital to provide fault tolerant techniques for distributed sensor network applications. This paper presents a robust recovery mechanism of nodes failure in a certain region of the network during data delivery. It dynamically finds new node to route data from source nodes to sink. The proposed algorithm is integrated easily in data delivery mechanisms where area failure in a certain geographical region is not considered. This recovery mechanism is focused on multiple-sink partitioned network. It is found that it quickly selects alternative node from its 1-hop neighbor list when there are no forwarding nodes available and establishes route from source to sink. Simulations are done in Matlab environment.Item Health Care Monitoring System using Arduina and GSM Modem(2015-12-22T08:29:26Z) Sai, Tejhaswini J.R; Arpita, Baruah; Shreyas, SinhaIn this fast pace of life ,it is difficult for people to be constantly available with near ones who might need them when they are suffering from a disease or physical disorder. Their purpose include military and civilian Earth observation satellites, communications satellites, navigation satellites, weather satellites, and research satellites. In satellites there are many subsystems and all these subsystems health is monitored by the telemetry system. Telemetry is defined as the sensing and measuring of information at some remote location and then transmitting that information to a central or host location. There, it can be monitored and used to control a process at the remote site. Telemetry is vital in the development of satellite and aircraft because the system might be destroyed during or after the test hence Engineer needs to keep monitoring the critical systems parameters to analyze and improve the performance. Telemetry is also used to testing in hostile environment which are dangerous for humans to be present. The low earth orbit satellites are always not visible to earth and hence there is storage devices implemented in telemetry. The various information from the different subsystem i.e. system health parameter, solar panel orientation etc. is collected by telemetry and is stored in the memory devices. Hence once the satellite is visible to earth the information from the memory is formatted to ground station.Item IMA ADPCM Encoder and Decoder for Audio Compression and Decompression(2015-12-22T07:35:29Z) E, Priyanka; Suraj, B; Vedant, SamariyaDigital audio compression allows the storage and transmission of audio data effectively. The audio compression techniques offer different levels of complexity, compressed audio quality, and amount of data compression. The digital representation of audio data offers many advantages: high noise immunity, stability, and reproducibility Audio in digital form also allows the efficient implementation of many audio processing functions (e.g., mixing, filtering, and equalization) through the digital computer. The conversion from the analog to the digital domain begins by sampling the audio input in regular, discrete intervals of time and quantizing the sampled values into a discrete number of evenly spaced levels. The digital audio data consists of a sequence of binary values representing the number of quantizer levels for each audio sample. Fig.1.1: Digital audio process The method of representing each sample with an independent code word is called pulse code modulation (PCM).And as the technology advances, other forms of coding such as differential pulse code modulation(DPCM), Adaptive differential pulse code modulation(ADPCM) etc., have been developed. There are mainly two types of data compression methods used namely, lossey compression and lossless compression method. The aim of this project is to develop a monitoring system that would warn about a possible collision. This can be further improved by developing an ACC (Autonomous cruise control) also known as pre-crash system, forward collision warning system or collision mitigating system that automatically adjusts vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicle ahead. The technology used for this purpose ranges from radar, sensors, sonar to image processing. This report suggests using image processing for this purpose. Image processing has the obvious advantage of possessing much more information about the scenario under consideration. The warning must be issued in real time. Thus the algorithm developed has to be time efficient.Item Lung Cancer Detection using MATLAB(2015-12-22T07:25:47Z) Omkar; Hemanth, Gowda .S; Bala Koteshwara, RaoIn this world of knowledge everything around us is run by Computing Systems. The technical Brilliance and Developments in different fields has led to a drastic change in our lives especially in the communications field. Due to various changes in technologies many systems have come up with breathtaking developments. One amongst them is the Embedded Systems. It is the evolution or further development of computing system. Its applications provide tremendous opportunities for creative use of computer technology. Almost every new system introduced in the market is an example of Embedded System. An embedded system is a combination of computer circuitry and software that is built into a product for purposes such as control, monitoring and communication without human intervention. Embedded systems are at the core of every modern electronic product, ranging from toys to medical equipment to aircraft control systems. In contrast to general-purpose computers, embedded systems perform a narrow range of pre-defined tasks. Thus, they usually do not have any of the typical computer peripheral devices such as a keyboard, display monitor, serial connections, mass storage (e.g., hard disk drives), etc. or any kind of user interface software, unless required by the product in which they are used in. This can make it possible to greatly reduce the complexity, size and cost and increase the robustness of embedded systems as compared with general purpose systems.Item Solar Tracker and Transmitting Extra Energy to the Government Mains(2015-12-22T07:22:06Z) Nazeer, Ahmed; Rohith, N; Manoj, Reddy .RSolar tracker and transmitting the extra energy to the govt. mains-Solar energy is one of the renewable source of energy which is abundantly available in nature. There is need for improve security in ATM transactions. Due to tremendous increase in the number of criminals and their activities, the ATM has become insecure. ATM systems today use an access card and PIN for identity verification. The Personal Verification Number (PIN) does not give good security. The fingerprint is unique and cannot duplicate by others. This system combines the pin verification and fingerprint recognition technology for identification. With fingerprint recognition technology we embedded the GSM modem connected to the microcontroller. The GSM module is used to generate the 4 digit one time password (OTP) and it send to the main user mobile number when the user enrol the fingerprint to gain access the ATM. The fingerprint of the card holder is collected and stored in the database corresponding to the Bank account details. Every fingerprint which is placed at ATM is checked across the database. The 4 digit one time password should be entered using the Keypad. After enter all the correct information customer can begin the further transactions. The biometric features cannot be replicated; this proposal will go a long way to solve the problem of account safety. We have used the Arduino Mega 2560 as a core controller. The system uses R305 fingerprint scanner to capture fingerprints with its DSP processor and optical sensor and SIM900 GSM module for generation and transmission of 4 digit OTP.
