The negative sequence relay is an important protective device in the power system. It protects from the flow of negative sequence circuits in electrical systems including generators and motors .Negative sequence currents are present due to unbalance in the system. Use of Negative Phase Sequence Relay helps to avoid heating in the machines of the power system and to keep a check on the quality of power .Microprocessor based digital protection relays now emulate the original devices ,as well as providing types of protection and supervision impractical with electromechanical relays .The aim of the project is to design ,simulate and build a test circuit to test this relay for the purpose of including it as a laboratory experiment.en_US
