Abstract
The explosive growth of digital contents continues to raise the demand for new storage and network capacities, along with an increasing need for more cost effective
use of storage and network band-width for data transfer.With this increase of data
production, shared network multi-user cloud storage systems are becoming
very popular.However Security and privacy are among top concerns for
the public cloud envi-ronments.Researchers have proposed many dynamic PoS
schemes in single-user environments.In this project we propose an improved data
deduplication scheme by improving its efficiency by identifying and removing
the duplicate copies at block level from the cloud storages in multi-user environments.
For implementation we are using message digest hash algorithm
(MD5) to generate hashcode and Logical block addressing (LBA) to improve
the performance of the proposed deduplication scheme .The security of the
system is maintained by DES(Data Encryption Standard) which is a symmetric-key algorithm.
