Abstract
The challenge for fund managers today is to help their companies move to a position of lower risks but higher returns. Fund managers are also under severe pressure to manage the funds invested in the stock market which is very volatile. The pressure on the fund managers is very intense that they need to report to the top management on daily/weekly basis regarding the composition of the allocation of funds in the market.
On the other hand, the investor often decides their investment decision on the basis of the funds being allocated in the particular market and their rate of financial returns. Hence there comes a need for the study of the Value-at-Risk (VaR).
The objective of my project is to find out the maximum loss of each ULIP funds to be incurred in the future influencing the paramount interest of the investor to achieve the maximum financial returns.
VaR in brief says that “At certain confidence level there will not exceed a loss of more than ₨.X in the next N days.”
