| dc.description.abstract | “An Automation Tool for Software Testing using Visual C#” is a tool built which is used for software development and maintenance. The purpose of the project is to replace the manual process of testing to automation testing so that production time can be saved and provide good time to market and also measure the performance. It aims to deliver a solution to ensure consistency of information and minimize local footprints in entities. The tool which is built is intended only to the particular organization to do the process of test automation. Data warehouse is a system which is used for data analysis for performance management and also in reporting. Concepts such as dimensions and facts are used to measure the performance. Facts and dimensions depend on each other. Key point indicators such as expenses, costs, transactions etc are used to measure the performance. Data warehouse contains components such as ETL i.e. enrich, translate and load, staging which is temporary area where data is fed, ODS i.e. online data store where data is processed and then to data mart where reports are generated. Manual testing is done to detect for any defects and ensure proper working. As manual testing is tedious and time consuming automaton comes into the picture. Data adjustments are done. Testers use this definition to create test conditions and expected results. Test automation is the use of special tool to compare actual outcome with the predicted outcome. For particular test data, scenarios are built and these test data’s input sheet and queries are fed into the tool to compare the actual and predicted outcome to ensure proper working whether the same data is loaded properly throughout the stages. Results are provided indicating success comparing the actual and predicted outcome is same or else failure is indicated. | en_US |
