| dc.description.abstract | In view of the increasing challenges in team collaboration in distributed working environments, this project describes the design, development, and implementation of WorkNest, a full-stack project management system that seeks to provide solutions to workflow inefficiencies created by asynchronous communication and information silos. Using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), it is a powerful, real-time collaborative platform that revolves around a dynamic Kanban board. Other features include user authentication secured via JSON Web Tokens (JWT), granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), system-wide notification, and file management inside tasks. The application architecture consists of a RESTful API backend and a responsive Single-Page Application frontend, with real-time data synchronization managed via Socket.io. The application successfully validated the objective of creating a centralized, easy-to-use, and secure workspace, thereby improving team productivity and project transparency. | |
