dc.description.abstractA Motion which repeats itself after interval of time is called vibration or oscillation. The study of torsional rotor is important especially in applications where high power transmission and high speeds are present. The experiments to be conducted, numerical calculations using formula by taking experimental values. The analysis of Torsional vibration of single disc rotor will be done. The result will be validated and the single degree of freedom torsional system would be understood. When the system is allowed to vibrate freely, it is observed that the vibration normally die out gradually over a few cycle of motion. This is because, the energy given to the system initially, is dissipated during the motion. The vibrating system may encounter damping forces of different types like molecular friction, sliding friction and fluid resistance.en_US
