Abstract
‘Motivation’ means to provide someone with motive. It is a complex force inspiring a person to work, to use his capacities willingly for achieving certain goals. Motivation is something that motivates that person into action and continues him in the course of action willingly to get the results expected of him. It refers to the carrying out the task properly and with loyalty to the group that has accepted the task. It also refers to the way in which it desires and aspirations direct, control and explain the behavior of human beings.
Motivation is a driving force that initiates and directs behavior. It is a kind of internal energy which drives a person to do something in order to achieve something. It is not concerned with personality but with temper and dynamic state within a person. Motivation of person is very much essential to achieve concerned goals of workplace in order to identify oneself with some work or to affiliate to something, to develop one’s competence, power and attitude.
