Abstract
Financial statements are prepared primarily for decision-making. They play a dominant role
in setting the framework of managerial decisions. Financial analysis is defined as “the process
of identifying the financial strengths and weaknesses of the firm by properly establishing
relationship between the items of the balance sheet and the profit and loss account.” Ratio
analysis is one of the powerful tools of financial analysis. It indicates a quantitative
relationship between the figures and group of figures which are used for evaluation and
decision making.
Bk Roadtech Private Limited is a Private Company incorporated on 18th January 2011. It is
classified as Indian Non-Government Company and is registered at Registrar of Companies,
Bangalore. Its authorized share capital is rs.100000 and its paid up capital is rs.100000. It is
involved in building of complete construction or parts there of; civil engineering
Bk Roadtech Private Limited’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was last held on 30th
September 2015 and as per records from Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), its balance
sheet was last filled on 31st march 2015.
The objective of this study is to examine whether the creditors and investors are satisfied with
the performance and financial position of the company. To study profitability, short term
liquidity and solvency position of company are also the objectives of this study.
At first literature survey was done to understand various aspects of financial condition of the
organization. The title ‘study on ratio analysis’ was chosen as it is used as a device to analyse
and interpret financial health of the enterprise and to draw a conclusion whether the
performance of the firm is improving or deteriorating. Using the available data, different
ratios were calculated and compared over the five years period (2011 – 2015). Conclusion
was drawn based on the analysis and comparison.
During the study period it was observed that emphasis was more on the profitability, turnover
and solvency ratios of the concerned firm. It was felt that performance and the value of the
company also had to be taken into consideration. Some of the main factors that can be looked
are the return generated for the investor and the company’s soundness and stability.
