dc.description.abstractThe PetCare Tracker is a web-based application designed to provide a centralized and efficient platform for managing various pet care activities. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, many pet owners struggle to keep track of grooming schedules, veterinary appointments, training sessions, and other essential pet care services. Traditional methods such as manual records, phone reminders, and paper-based scheduling often result in missed appointments, poor organization, and inconvenience. To overcome these challenges, the PetCare Tracker offers a digital solution that simplifies pet care management through automation and easy accessibility. The system enables users to create accounts, log in securely, browse available services, and book appointments according to their preferences. It provides a user-friendly interface that allows pet owners to manage their pet-related activities conveniently from a single platform. Users can also submit reviews and ratings based on their experiences, helping improve service quality and assisting other users in making informed decisions. Additionally, a contact feature is provided to facilitate communication between users and service providers. The application is developed using PHP for server-side processing and business logic, while HTML and CSS are used to create an attractive, responsive, and interactive user interface. Instead of relying on a traditional database management system, the project uses JSON-based file storage to manage data efficiently. This approach reduces complexity, minimizes deployment costs, and makes the system suitable for academic and small-scale real-world applications. The use of structured file storage ensures that user information, appointments, reviews, and contact messages are maintained systematically. Security and reliability are important aspects of the system. The application implements session-based authentication, password hashing, input validation, and role-based access control to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access. The admin module provides complete control over the platform by allowing administrators to monitor registered users, appointments, reviews, and contact messages. These features ensure smooth system operation and efficient management of all activities performed within the platform. The project follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, including planning, requirement analysis, system design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance phases. Comprehensive testing procedures are conducted to verify system functionality, usability, performance, and security. The application is deployed using AWS EC2 cloud services, making it accessible through the internet and demonstrating practical implementation of cloud-based web application deployment. Overall, the PetCare Tracker serves as an effective solution for improving pet care management by reducing manual effort, enhancing organization, and increasing user convenience. The project demonstrates the practical application of web development technologies, secure authentication mechanisms, cloud deployment, and data management techniques. Future enhancements such as database integration, online payment facilities, real-time notifications, and mobile application support can further improve the scalability and functionality of the system, making it suitable for larger-scale commercial use.
