Abstract
Almost all our families have elderly parents and other members who suffer from some kind of ailments which can be cured or sustained by taking medications that are prescribed by a doctor. These medications must be taken at the right time for the body to react to the medication accordingly. Sometimes, elderly parents may forget or even find it difficult to take the right medication that is prescribed to be taken at a particular time. In such circumstances, caretakers or children guide/remind them to take the right medicine at the right time. But in some cases where a caretaker is unavailable or the children are at their workplace and or carrying out their own activities, it may not be possible for the elderly parents or sometimes even sick members to take their medication appropriately. Although there are pill organiser boxes available in the market where one must arrange and sort the medicines according to the time and day that the patient or elder must take, but even then, it is not completely reliable as the caretaker may sometimes mix the medicine and the patient may end up having the wrong medicine. These pill boxes do not play the function of reminding or assisting a patient or an elderly parent. Considering the above problems, we have come up with a solution to assist the user to take their medications without any hassle. This project aims on creating a medical assisting solution for those people who require attention/guidance when it comes to taking the right medication on time. This system is useful for those who have to take care of elderly parents or patients who have daily jobs and other activities to take care of and also for those who cannot afford a caretaker. With a simple design and approach, it can meet the requirement of assisting anyone suffering from ailments who require guidance to take their medicine on time.
