Abstract
The purpose of the present work is to optimize the design of a vehicle on the basis of hill climb, rock crawl, acceleration, manoeuvrability and endurance on land as well as in muddy terrain and to fabricate the vehicle according to rally race specifications. The focus has been laid on the simplicity of design, high performance, easy maintenance and safety at very reasonable prices. The design and development comprises of material selection, chassis and frame design, cross section determination, determining strength requirements of roll cage, stress analysis and simulations to test the ATV against failure. During the entire design process, innovative, inexpensive and effective methods were used design a vehicle which is ergonomic, aerodynamic and highly engineered. Simulation of roll cage frame, suspension, steering etc. are carried out using solid works and Lotus suspension geometry software. ATV is Fabrication with best available materials and spare parts with all design considerations and testing is carried out on different terrains.
