Abstract
Fire accidents are very frequent in our daily lives. Fire on a running vehicle is more catastrophic than on a stationary one, since fanning by wind helps spread the fire. When these accidents occur in remote areas or during night hours the loss or damage caused is relatively high. The damage is heavier due to improper reach of service at right time due to inefficient communication. This time delay causes greater damage. Thus, eliminating the time between when an accident occurs and when first responders are dispatched to the scene decreases the damage. The delay can be eliminated by identifying the fire accident and notifying the concerned authorities and passengers as soon as possible.
The proposed system is very efficient and robust when applied to detect and prevent fire catastrophes. In case of fire, the vehicle is forced to stop, an alarm is raised and then a text message is sent to the fire authority. The message contains information about the location, where the fire accident occurred. Receiver at the fire station is a smart phone having an application of Google map that shows shortest route to the destination. At the same time, primary measures such as water sprinklers and exhaust fans are used to reduce the degree of damage caused by the fire.
The major aim of this project is not just to identify if the fire occurred, but also to inform fire authorities and take primary measures to control the fire.
