dc.description.abstractImage noise removal plays an important role in image processing as a pre-processing stage. Noise disturbances may be caused by the electronic imaging sensors, channel noise etc, hence noise removal is employed before image is further analysed. Impulse noise removal is a mechanism for detection and removal of impulse noise from an images. Median filter is one of the simplest and the most popular approach for noise removal. However simple median filter fails to restore the image at higher noise densities, hence adaptive median filter are used which works for low and high noise densities.en_US
