Abstract
Marketing strategy in sales is concerned with the duties of sales manager and sales productivity team of an organization. It is the plan or tactics which is used to drive significant results by means of filling the gaps between identifying the markets‟ (target customer) need arousal for product consumption and post-purchase retention. „A marketing strategy will facilitate creating messages and the adding of chosen marketing approaches in the right place so that in an effective marketing plan we can bring the sales and marketing activities together in a cohesive manner. Sales includes varied task such as identifying the needs of the markets, setting up of target customers, data collection, strategic approaches, product design, quoting of rates/tariffs, budgeting, setting financial target, selling, customer database management and customer retention. The term sales refer to those set of actions which helps in the conversion of a non-customer into the real time customer or consumer of the product in exchange of something. Or in other words sales can be referred to as the process of persuading people or convincing customers for purchasing or buying a product. A marketing plan helps in the execution of ideas into action. It helps in setting marketing budgets and deadlines, and also guide on how to approach the target customers - through different means like networking, advertising, direct marketing, going to trade shows, etc. Most importantly, marketing strategy will guide on when to approach the customers. Matching your initiatives to best fit the customer’s consuming pattern will reduce the expenses and improve sales thus leading to the marketing mix- product, place, price and promotion. As per the plans, advancement should be constantly calculated and assessed to see what's viable and what’s not, so the target can be changed based on market fluctuations.
