Refreshable Braille displays are essential assistive devices that allow visually impaired individuals to read digital content; however, their high cost and complex construction restrict accessibility for many users. Most commercially available Braille displays rely on piezoelectric actuators, which significantly increase manufacturing costs. This final year project presents the design and implementation of a low-cost electromechanical refreshable Braille module using open-source hardware concepts and readily available components.
