Abstract
Employee Turnover is the reduction in the number of
employees. There can be many reasons for an
employee to leave an organization, but high rates of
employee turnover would have a negative impact as it
may jeopardize efforts to attain organizational
objectives. In addition, when an organization loses a
critical employee, the effects on innovation,
consistency in providing service to customers and
timely delivery of services to customers may be
affected badly. Employee turnover at a high rate may
also hit the overall performance of the organization as
it leads to the wastage of costs which are incurred in
selection, training and accommodation for those
employees. The rate of turnover varies from industry to
industry. Though e-commerce industry is experiencing
explosive growth, it has its own set of challenges when
it comes to talent. . This paper aims to explain why ecommerce
companies are facing highest attrition rate
and the consequences of turnover on the e-commerce
firms. The paper is compiled by using available
content from the internet along with various
newspaper articles and by referring research articles
published on employee turnover. This paper also
highlights some remedial steps that are to be taken to
retain the employees and keep the attrition in control.
