The day to day functioning of every organization is concerned with the amount of capital kept in the form of working capital. A study of working capital is of major importance to internal and external analysis because the working capital determines the success and failure of any business. In accounting working capital is the difference between the inflow and outflow of funds. Working capital is defined as the excess of the current asset over current liabilities and provisions, in other words, it is the net current asset or net working capital. Working capital management involves deciding upon the amount and composition of current asset and how to finance these assets. This takes much of the financial manager's time in making decisions.en_US
