Abstract
Safety has been the greatest of all concerns mankind has had in all his efforts, precisio n
accuracy and perfection had been mostly accounted for this demand to be satisfied.every year
a huge amount of money is just being spent by companies and organisations around the globe
to make their products and systems more safe.
Despite the fact that the automotive industry has rigorously worked on the safety of
automobiles,over 1000000 road accidents are caused due to functional errors and unexpected
damages of the automobile,where flat tyres being the major contributors to it.Analyzing the
causes to flat tyres and understanding the necessity of a protective measure to prevent flat
tyres we decided to build a puncture prevention guard by designing a system based on the
intrinsic properties of magnets.By studying the attractive and repulsive forces, impact of
magnets in static and dynamic conditions,we came up with a design of an “ Autonomous
puncture prevention gaurd by magnetic system” for a 2 wheeler as an initial step.
A unique plan had to be designed for this guard to be put into practical application that a
systematic study of the magnets and its properties were also an inevitable part of our
project.various design consideration with analysis of different metals and composites with its
strength to weight ratio being our prime focus were tested and finally a design and prototype
was created.
This guard and its practical application is sure to make rides more safe and tension free thus
saving a lot of time,money,effort and most of all,precious lives of many.
