Abstract
Abstract— With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) in smart cities, secure and efficient data-sharing mechanisms to encode privacy, integrity, and accessibility are required. As a natural result of a centralized data-sharing framework, they remain vulnerable to security issues, unauthorized access, and most importantly, single-point-of- failure. Data confidentiality does not concern the layer blockchain technology; it offers better trust and security among stakeholders due to its decentralized and tamper-proof data manager. The outline of how block chain can resolve AI-based smart city data coming from diverse citizen-based sensors is discussed; consensus mechanisms, urgent access, multi- signature encryption is explored. Blockchain improves data transparency, reduces fraud, and ensures compliance with data privacy regulations by leveraging smart contracts and distributed ledger technology. In addition, the study addresses challenges related to the scalability which is a computational overhead issue and regulatory constraints that blockchain can face, and some solutions that could help the adoption of multiple stakeholders in urban infrastructures such as blockchain. The results show how a secure sharing of information via blockchain can drastically improve smart cities powered by AI ensuring their resiliency and efficiency toward sustainable intelligenurban environments.
