Abstract
The milestone project report: Enhancement of Customer Relationship Management in Logistics Industry using Power BI. At a time when data fuelled decision making has risen to the forefront, like so many others within logistics today faces an inflection point of how best to leverage advanced analytics technology in order to enrich customer relationships and grow their business. This study analyses five major logistics companies (Gati Ltd., Mahindra Logistics, VRL Logistics LTD, Depot and FedEx), their CRM strategies along with Power BI integration.
This research has several intended objectives. It firstly seeks to assess the current CRM practices in those selected logistics companies, establishing a ground level of knowledge about how customer relationship management is being conducted within industry. This research also assesses the feasibility of Power BI as a CRM process improvement tool, exploring how this cutting-edge business analytics platform has been redefining data visualization, reporting and decision-making in customer relationships. Lastly, it provides an overview of the implementation process as performed by each selected companies and compare it to asses which practices are more effective from them. Finally, the study highlights best practices and pitfalls for deploying Power BI CRM in logistics as well which serves a guidebook to any similar other company should switch on their own roadmaps of digital transformation.
The study is exploratory in nature and includes the CRM operations for these five best logistics companies with a specific focus on Power BI. The picture shows many areas within CRM: customer data management, analytics, reporting and decision frameworks. The study examines the interoperability of Power BI with current CRM systems, its effectiveness in supporting operational activities and promoting customer satisfaction and trust. Additionally, the research explores what organizational change is needed to enable successful CRM-related Power BI implementation and usage - such as employee training; data governance policies or changes in corporate culture that supports a shift from intuition-based decisions towards those based on data.
A mixed-method approach was used to ensure rich and detailed data are generated through both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The data collection instruments operated structured questionnaires that were distributed to employees in various levels at the organizations, with a view of obtaining information on practical uses of Power BI (in CRM activities) on day-to-day basis. We conducted focused in-depth interviews with company executives to understand their strategic lens while investing and adopting power BI, it's alignment to the overall business goals. Further, secondary data from annual reports, company publications, and research articles were used for background information collection in the verification process.
Before that, the data analysis process used a more sophisticated mix of quantitative and qualitative methods to better interpret what was in fact collected. Quantitative data was evaluated using statistical analysis software including SPSS and R, enabling robust tests of hypotheses and trends. Finally, Power BI was up making beautiful and meaningful data visualization - I guess that is what they call it! Narrative data collected from the interviews were analysed using qualitative analysis software (NVivo) allowing for in depth information about real industry professionals challenges and successes regarding Power BI for CRM.
The main findings of the study demonstrate a change resulting from Power BI in CRM routine among logistics industry. This included a substantial uplift in CRM data visualization and real-time reporting across all five companies studied, which had the effect of enhancing decision-making with customer service. Building interactive dashboards and reports gave full insight into customer interactions to help organizations foresee trends, predict customers needs or solve potential issues before they were overcome.
But the success of this approach is tightly coupled with strategic planning, organizational readiness and dedication to become a learning organization. With the logistics sector transitioning to a digital landscape, it is probable that how efficiently you integrate them as tools like Power BI in CRM would prove pivotal bearing for competitive advantage and better customer satisfaction.
