Abstract
In today's fast-paced world, managing personal finances has become increasingly important. With the rise in daily expenses and digital transactions, it is essential for individuals to keep track of their spending habits. However, many people still rely on manual methods such as writing expenses in notebooks or simply estimating their spending, which often leads to inaccuracies and poor financial planning. This creates a need for a reliable, efficient, and user-friendly system that can help users manage their expenses effectively. The Expense Tracker System is a web-based application designed to address this problem by providing a digital platform for recording, monitoring, and analyzing daily expenses. The system allows users to add, view, edit, and delete their expense records in a structured manner. It also provides a dashboard that visually represents spending patterns through charts such as pie charts, bar graphs, and line graphs. These visualizations help users understand where their money is being spent and identify areas where they can reduce unnecessary expenses. One of the key features of this project is the implementation of a budget management system, where users can set a monthly budget and track their remaining balance. This encourages disciplined spending and helps users avoid overspending. Additionally, the system includes AI-based summary and smart insights, which analyze user data and provide meaningful suggestions such as identifying the highest expense category, average spending, and personalized recommendations to improve financial habits. The application is developed using modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. The frontend ensures an interactive and responsive user interface, while the backend handles data processing, authentication, and database operations. The system is deployed using online hosting services, making it accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. Overall, the Expense Tracker System simplifies the process of financial management by providing an organized, automated, and intelligent solution. It not only helps users maintain records of their expenses but also empowers them to make better financial decisions through analysis and insights. This project demonstrates the practical application of web development technologies in solving real-world problems efficiently.
