Matrix Clothing is a web-based recommerce platform developed to promote sustainable fashion by enabling users to buy and sell pre-owned clothing products online. The increasing impact of fast fashion and textile waste has created a need for eco-friendly solutions that encourage the reuse and recycling of garments. This project aims to provide an affordable, user-friendly, and efficient marketplace where sellers can upload second-hand clothing items and buyers can easily browse and purchase them. The system is developed using Python Django as the backend framework along with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQLite for frontend design and database management. Django provides secure authentication, database handling, and scalable web application support. The platform contains separate functionalities for buyers and sellers, including user registration and login, product uploading, image management, category-based browsing, shopping cart management, order placement, address management, and payment simulation. The buyer module allows users to search products, add items to the cart, place orders, and view order history. The seller module enables users to upload product details, manage listings, and confirm orders. The application also includes responsive user interface designs, validation mechanisms, and secure data handling features to improve the overall user experience. The project focuses on promoting sustainable consumer behaviour by extending the lifecycle of clothing products and reducing unnecessary textile waste. It also benefits users by providing affordable fashion options and an opportunity to earn money from unused garments. Matrix Clothing demonstrates how modern web technologies can be used to develop practical e-commerce solutions that support both environmental sustainability and digital commerce. Future enhancements may include real payment gateway integration, chatbot support, recommendation systems, and advanced product filtering features.
